Change is a constant. The need for change can affect any organisation at any time. When it does, it needs an appropriate and timely response. This is where we specialise. Supporting change is what we do at nda.

And we do it for any organisation, however big or small. Historically, nda has been involved with public services. More recently we have been working with public-sector interest companies owned by the private sector. Here is more detail on some of our projects.

for Gloucestershire County Council

• Graphically recording the stories of 160 homeless people, and helping them to define ‘what good services look like’ for the County’s recommissioning of supported housing

• Graphically recording the stories of 50 young people in the care system to identify the key themes to underpin their new Sufficiency Strategy

• Engagement and storytelling work on various public health projects, including obesity, domestic abuse, alcohol abuse, and mental health

• Collecting and recording the stories of care experienced parents to support changes to strategy and practice

• Leading a pilot project to enable young ambassadors from the care system contribute to the County’s quality assurance processes for residential projects

• Collecting stories of parents and local communities post-COVID as the basis for the re-commissioning of the family hubs

• Collecting the stories of young people to support the development of new residential projects for care leavers

for Action on Addiction

• Implementation of a £7m contract to deliver community recovery services for Essex County Council.

• As Interim Head of Service In Liverpool, managing 26 staff, restructured their operation to create a collaborative delivery culture with greater community outreach, then helped to write the bid for the community day services contract (subsequently secured); mobilised the contract; and supported the recruitment and induction of the new Head of Service.

• Masterclass to senior and middle managers on how to use a complexity framework for the introduction of Psychologically Informed Environments into the organisation.

• Bid advice for a substance misuse services contract in Portsmouth.

for Supported Independent Living Service (SiLS), Bristol

• Supporting the organisation redesign and transform a long-term service for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues into a short-term service that integrates more effectively with local community services.

• Consultancy and management services for a new community support service for people with learning disabilities

for Maximus, UK

• A Regional Partnership Lead to develop the foundations to bid for new probation service contracts, including securing new statutory and voluntary service delivery partners.

• London Stakeholder Lead for a Ministry of Justice CFO3 Evolution Bid targeted at the most hard-to-engage offenders.

• Supporting the implementation and delivery of the Ministry of Justice Employment, Education and Training contract.

for Somerset County Council

• Storytelling with young people in residential provision to improve strategy and practice in children’s services.

for Disruption Works, Plymouth

• The provision of professional coaching to establish a new business model for Disruption Works, a progressive digital solutions company; and supporting the research on the potential of machine learning and artificial intelligence to transformation the way we deliver public services.

for Avon & Somerset Police Authority (now the Avon & Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner)

• Advice and training on commissioning skills in preparation for the upcoming Police and Crime Commissioner role.

for Brighton & Hove City Council

• Creation, specification and review of a personalised model of care and support for physically and learning disabled people in an extra care setting. This long-term project has been written up as a Housing LIN case study.

for Interserve Justice

• Provision of interim management through the role of Regional Transformation Director for Hampshire to deliver the new operating model for a privatised probation service.

for Gloucestershire Police Authority (now the Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner)

• Creation of a community engagement strategy in preparation for the upcoming Police and Crime Commissioner role.

for Hampshire Probation Trust

• Creation of a business plan, change management strategy, and partnership strategy for a Probation Trust in preparation for a privatised probation service.

for Langley House Trust

• Personalisation of the support service at a 21-bed residential scheme for offenders responding to a role change required by the local authority. Service model for the whole organisation.

for Gloucestershire Probation Trust (with Gloucestershire County Council and Stonham Housing)

• Creation, implementation and initial review of a county housing strategy for offenders. Subsequently support for the creation of a new set of accommodation projects, including a personalised resettlement scheme for homeless prisoners discharged from HMP Gloucester, a private sector leasing scheme, and a service user engagement organisation.

for Torbay Borough Council, Devon & Cornwall Probation Trust, Shekinah Trading

• Development and creation of the Torbay Enterprise Project for socially excluded citizens following initial research and scoping work.
